How do I install ClawIDE?
Run
curl -fsSL https://www.clawide.app/install.sh | bash in a terminal. The script detects your OS and architecture, shows the installation plan, and installs the binary to ~/.local/bin. ClawIDE needs tmux (brew install tmux on macOS, sudo apt install tmux on Debian/Ubuntu) and at least one agent CLI. Then run clawide and open http://localhost:9800. See the installation guide.Which platforms does it run on?
macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Linux (amd64 and arm64). On Windows, ClawIDE runs inside WSL2, because a native Windows build is not supported yet; follow the WSL2 steps.
Is it self-hosted? Does my code leave my machine?
ClawIDE is self-hosted. It runs on your hardware and stores everything in
~/.clawide. Your code, terminal sessions, prompts, notes, tasks and API keys never reach us. Anything else ClawIDE talks to is something you configured yourself, such as your model gateway, tracker or an MCP server, and those requests go directly from your machine to that provider under your own credentials. The privacy policy lists the few third parties the app does contact, such as the jsDelivr CDN for some interface libraries. What data does ClawIDE collect?
The app sends no usage data, analytics or telemetry. Its automatic requests are a daily update check against GitLab, which you can turn off with the
auto_update_check setting; a daily license check against api.clawide.app, only if you’ve activated a license; and a daily seat refresh, only if you’re signed into a ClawIDE Cloud (Team) organization. A license check sends your license key and a hashed random machine identifier, not a hardware fingerprint. This website uses Google Analytics and, when ads are running, the Reddit Pixel. Buying a license means Stripe handles your payment and we store your email address, license key and purchase records. The privacy policy has the full details. Is ClawIDE a free alternative to Orca or Conductor?
For local work, yes. The free plan includes unlimited projects, a git worktree per task, every agent CLI and model gateway, the task board, merge review, usage analytics and checkpoints. The difference is the form factor: Orca and Conductor are desktop apps, while ClawIDE is a single binary you open from any browser. Orca is open source and has things ClawIDE doesn’t, such as an embedded browser. See ClawIDE vs Orca and ClawIDE vs Conductor.
Does it work with OpenRouter?
Yes. Add your OpenRouter key under Settings → Gateways and assign it to an agent. For Claude Code, ClawIDE sets
ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL=https://openrouter.ai/api and your token in that pane’s tmux session. Agents that speak the OpenAI API, such as OpenCode, Aider and Qwen Code, get the OpenAI-compatible endpoint instead. Requesty, LiteLLM, Vercel AI Gateway, Ollama, LM Studio and custom endpoints work the same way, and gateways are free. What is Symphony support?
OpenAI Symphony is an open spec for turning tracker issues into coding-agent runs, configured by a
WORKFLOW.md file in your repo. ClawIDE Pro reads that file and runs the loop itself: it polls Linear, Jira or GitHub Issues, creates a workspace per issue, runs your hooks, renders the prompt and starts a headless agent such as Claude Code or Codex, with retries you can watch in the sidebar. It’s Symphony-compatible, not a conformant implementation, because it doesn’t include Symphony’s Codex app-server client. It can also monitor a Symphony daemon you already run.Is ClawIDE open source?
No. ClawIDE is a free, closed-source binary covered by the EULA. It runs on your hardware, and your code, sessions and keys stay on the machine that runs it. If you need an open-source license, Orca, Herdr and Emdash are good options.
Can I use it from my phone?
Yes. ClawIDE is a web app, so a mobile browser works, and you can install it as a PWA. On your local network, open the machine’s address on port 9800; the sidebar lists your network interfaces with QR codes. From outside your network, use a private VPN such as Tailscale or WireGuard rather than exposing the port to the internet. Push notifications to your phone are part of Pro.
What does Pro add?
Automation and integrations: Linear, Jira and GitHub Issues sync with your task board, Symphony-compatible autonomous runs, AI on tasks, AI code review, scheduled loops, the MCP Debugger, push notifications, PromptForge and Voice Box. Pro is $5 a month, $48 a year or $99 once, on up to 3 machines. See pricing.
What happens when my trial ends?
Every install includes a 14-day Pro trial, no card required. When it ends, ClawIDE moves to Free: your projects, sessions, tasks and settings stay, and only the Pro features lock.
I already pay for Pro. Does my price change?
No. Existing subscribers keep their current plan and price. If you’d like to move to the new pricing, email support@clawide.app and we’ll switch you.
Does Pro work offline?
Yes. Licenses are verified offline with Ed25519 signatures. ClawIDE re-checks when it’s online, and if you’re fully offline Pro keeps working through a 7-day grace window. Each verification is good for up to 30 days.
How many machines can I use?
Each license activates up to 3 machines. Machine identity is a random per-install ID, not a hardware fingerprint.
How does Lifetime work?
One payment of $99 buys a Pro license for up to 3 machines, with no subscription to manage.
What's the refund policy?
Every plan has a 14-day refund, no questions asked. Email support@clawide.app and we’ll process it through Stripe. A refund deactivates the license.
Is tax included?
Prices are in USD and exclude sales tax or VAT where it applies. Checkout shows the exact total for your region before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.
What is the Team plan?
Team gives every seat Pro, plus a ClawIDE Cloud organization with seat management, for $10 per seat per month or $96 per seat per year. It’s in beta: email support@clawide.app to join.
How do I cancel or manage billing?
Settings → License → Manage billing opens your Stripe customer portal, where you can change plan, cancel or download invoices at any time.
Do I need an account?
Not for Free or Pro. Buy a plan, get a license key by email and paste it into Settings → License. Your code and sessions stay on your machine.
