Changelog

All notable changes to ClawIDE are documented here. The format is based on Keep a Changelog.

[2.2.4] — 2026-09-14

Fixed

  • Scheduled Jobs → Loop: Loop jobs now require Claude Code, the only agent with a built-in /loop command. Other agents show “(no /loop)” in the agent list and can’t be saved or started as Loop jobs. Existing Loop jobs set to another agent are kept, marked “Needs Claude Code”, and can’t be started until you switch the agent. Previously ClawIDE typed Claude Code’s /loop into any agent.
  • Scheduled Jobs → Loop: A Loop job’s status now shows only what ClawIDE knows: “Started” with the time you started it, or “Stopped” once you stop it or its terminal pane closes. It no longer says “Running” or shows a “Last run” time it can’t track.
  • Scheduled Jobs: Saving a new job no longer slides the Delete button under your cursor. Start, Save and Delete keep the same positions.
  • Workspace sidebar: Collapsible sections animate open and closed again, and the browser console no longer fills with warnings about them.

[2.2.3] — 2026-09-11

Added

  • MCP Debugger: The Tools tab builds a form from each tool’s input schema (text, number, checkbox and select fields, nested groups, add/remove for arrays), with a JSON toggle for shapes the form can’t model.
  • Mobile: ClawIDE offers once to install as an app on your phone and delivers notifications with Web Push. Tapping a notification opens the terminal that raised it, in its project and branch.

Fixed

  • New Feature / New Branch: Creating a workspace no longer shows a “name is required” error when the workspace was in fact created.
  • New Feature / New Branch: Creating a workspace no longer switches your project’s own checkout to the base branch or disturbs its uncommitted changes. The new branch is created directly in its worktree or clone.
  • Commit tab: Shows your latest changes when you open it, instead of “No changes detected” until you click Refresh.
  • Scheduled Jobs: Loop jobs can be created again. The target pane list was always empty, and saving failed with an error.
  • Toasts: Success and error messages in Scheduled Jobs, Skills, Agents and MCP Servers appear again instead of failing silently.
  • MCP Debugger: A failed Connect shows an error and the reason on the connection, with links to Diagnostics and Trace, instead of staying Idle.
  • Editor: Opening a file in a split pane no longer marks it as modified, so closing the pane doesn’t ask you to discard changes you never made.
  • Docker: The “Missing env files” banner only lists env files your compose file actually references, and “Copy from Main” only appears in a feature workspace whose main project has the file.
  • Project Wizard: Framework projects are created with their real file layout (docker-compose.yml, app code, .gitignore and .env.example at the project root) instead of a flat files/ folder, so the Docker panel finds the compose file.

[2.2.2] — 2026-09-11

Fixed

  • Settings → Agents & Gateways: The gateway dropdown next to each agent can now be changed. It was stuck disabled, so you could only route an agent through a gateway from the setup wizard.

[2.2.1] — 2026-09-11

Fixed

  • Docker image: The ClawIDE Docker image is published again (registry.gitlab.com/axs-dev/clawide:v2.2.1 and :latest). The 2.2.0 image failed to publish; the app is otherwise identical to 2.2.0.

[2.2.0] — 2026-09-11

ClawIDE 2.2 makes the whole local workspace free, runs any agent CLI (17 with built-in presets), adds model gateways, and brings tracker integrations and Symphony-compatible autonomous runs to Pro, at a lower price.

Added

  • Agent catalog: Run Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Aider, Goose, Crush, Qwen Code, Amp, Cline, Kilo, Cursor CLI, Copilot CLI, Droid, Kiro, OpenHands, Continue, or any shell or custom command, per pane. ClawIDE detects installed CLIs and shows install commands for the rest. Free. Learn more →
  • Model gateways: Route agents through OpenRouter, Requesty, LiteLLM, Portkey, Vercel AI Gateway, Cloudflare AI Gateway, DeepInfra, Fireworks, Martian, Together AI, Groq, Ollama, LM Studio or a custom Anthropic- or OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Keys are kept in a local 0600 secrets file and injected into each pane’s tmux session. Free.
  • Tracker integrations: Import Linear, Jira Cloud and GitHub issues into your task board, then push status and comments back. Pro. Learn more →
  • Symphony-compatible orchestration: A WORKFLOW.md in your repo turns tracker issues into headless agent runs, with per-issue workspaces, hooks, retries, reconciliation and a live sidebar panel, plus a monitor for external Symphony daemons. Pro. Learn more →
  • Resumable setup wizard: Agents, gateways, integrations, projects and plan in one flow. Skip any step and finish it later from Settings, the dashboard banner or the command palette. Free. Learn more →
  • Website: A redesigned site with a new pricing page and comparisons with Orca, Herdr, Conductor, Emdash and Superset.

Changed

  • Free is now the whole local workspace: The 2-project cap is gone. The task board, notes and bookmarks, agents, skills and MCP server managers, parallel feature workspaces, usage analytics and session checkpoints are now free.
  • Pro focuses on automation: Tracker integrations, Symphony-compatible runs, AI on tasks, AI code review, scheduled loops, the MCP Debugger, push notifications, PromptForge and Voice Box.
  • New prices: Pro is $5/mo, $48/yr or $99 lifetime. Team is $10 per seat per month or $96 per seat per year (beta). Existing subscribers keep their current plan and price.
  • Upgrade prompts: The upgrade modal now also opens during the trial, so the trial banner’s upgrade button works.

Fixed

  • Environment variables in terminal panes: Variables, including CLAWIDE_*, are now set on the tmux session itself, so they reach the pane’s shell.

[2.1.1] — 2026-08-03

A small polish release: the Settings → License panel no longer shows the “Buy ClawIDE Pro” upsell or the key-activation field to users who already have an active license, and adds a Deactivate action to remove or switch a license.

Fixed

  • Settings → License: Hide the upgrade prompt and key-activation input for already-licensed users; add a Deactivate action.

[2.1.0] — 2026-08-03

ClawIDE v2.1 introduces Pro, a paid plan that unlocks push notifications, usage analytics, session checkpoints, multi-provider sessions, AI code review, and the full automation suite — plus early Team support for organizations. This release includes 158 commits since v2.0.1.

Added

  • Pro Plan: Subscribe for $9/mo, $90/yr, or go lifetime for $200. Pro unlocks the full automation and knowledge suite — Task Manager, Agents, MCP Servers, MCP Debugger, Scheduled Jobs, PromptForge, Notes, Bookmarks, Voicebox, and parallel feature workspaces — plus everything below. Every install starts with a 14-day free trial, no card required.
  • License Activation & Billing: Activate Pro on up to 3 machines by pasting a license key in Settings → License. Activation works offline with a grace window, and a Manage Billing link opens the Stripe billing portal for invoices and plan changes.
  • Push Notifications to Your Phone: ClawIDE is now an installable Progressive Web App. Pro users can subscribe to push notifications and get pinged the instant a session needs attention, a task finishes, or a scheduled job completes — even when you’ve stepped away from your desk.
  • Usage & Cost Analytics: A new Pro dashboard parses your Claude Code session history into token and cost breakdowns by session, project, and model, so you can see exactly where your usage is going.
  • Session Checkpoints & Rollback: Snapshot a session’s git state and full conversation transcript at any point, then browse a timeline in the sidebar and restore to an earlier checkpoint in one click. Pro.
  • Multi-Provider Sessions: Pick the AI provider per terminal pane — Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Aider, or a plain shell — from the provider selector.
  • AI Code Review: Generate a structured, local-first review of a branch’s diff without leaving ClawIDE. Pro.
  • ClawIDE Cloud Accounts (Beta): Sign in with an organization account to bring Team entitlement to the binary.
  • Team Plan & Per-Seat Billing (Beta): Organizations can purchase Team seats at $19/seat/mo or $190/seat/yr; assigning or revoking a seat automatically grants or removes that member’s Pro entitlement.

Changed

  • Free Plan Project Cap: The Free (“Solo”) plan is now capped at 2 projects. Creating a 3rd project shows an upgrade prompt.
  • Upgrade Prompts: Locked Pro features now open a pricing-and-checkout modal instead of failing silently, and a trial countdown banner shows days remaining with a direct link to checkout.

[2.0.1] — 2026-06-04

Changed

  • Auto-update now checks GitLab: The in-app updater reads its release manifest from the GitLab package registry instead of the old GitHub releases API, matching ClawIDE’s move to closed-source GitLab distribution. Installs on v2.0.0 or earlier should update once (or reinstall via curl -fsSL https://www.clawide.app/install.sh | bash) to move onto the new update channel.

[2.0.0] — 2026-06-04

ClawIDE v2.0 is a major release that turns the workspace into a full command center for managing Claude Code work — task tracking, a reusable prompt library, scheduled automation, and a complete MCP debugging client. This release includes 36 commits since v1.2.0.

Added

  • Task Manager: A Kanban board for tracking work, with Backlog / In Progress / Done columns (plus custom columns), drag-and-drop, comments, and project or global scope. Tasks are stored as human-readable Markdown (.clawide/tasks.md) you can commit to git, and project tasks support AI-assisted breakdown and an Ask AI action. Learn more →
  • PromptForge: A reusable prompt library with folders, plain or Jinja-template prompts, typed variable forms (string, text, number, boolean, select, date), in-browser compilation, compiled version history, and one-click insertion into the focused terminal. Learn more →
  • Scheduled Jobs: Run prompts on a schedule from a single panel — Loops that send a prompt to a terminal pane at a fixed or dynamic interval, and Cron Jobs that run your agent’s CLI headlessly via the system crontab (macOS/Linux). Learn more →
  • MCP Debugger: A complete interactive client for Model Context Protocol servers — stdio, Streamable HTTP, and legacy SSE transports, OAuth 2.1 with automatic discovery (and http→https upgrade), dynamic client registration and PKCE, tool invocation, resource reads, prompt inspection, connection folders, per-server health checks, and a live JSON-RPC trace. Learn more →
  • Zen Mode: A distraction-free focus view that hides all chrome and expands the workspace to fullscreen. Learn more →
  • Quick Swap: A header menu to jump between your projects and the MCP Debugger in one click. Learn more →
  • Project Rename & Delete: Rename a project’s display name or its directory on disk, remove a project from ClawIDE without touching files, or move it to a 30-day trash for safe deletion. Learn more →
  • Markdown Preview — Table of Contents & Synced Scrolling: A navigable heading outline in full preview mode, plus heading-aligned synced scrolling between the editor and preview in side-by-side mode. Learn more →

Changed

  • Distribution: ClawIDE is now closed source. Install via curl -fsSL https://www.clawide.app/install.sh | bash; binaries are published to GitLab and downloaded by the install script.
  • MCP Tester → MCP Debugger: The MCP testing tool was renamed to MCP Debugger and linked from the Settings navigation.
  • OAuth discovery: Discovery now auto-upgrades http:// endpoints to https://, with clearer connection diagnostics.

Fixed

  • Multi-instance tmux safety: ClawIDE no longer reaps tmux sessions owned by other ClawIDE instances.
  • Sidebar appearance: Fixed the collapsed sidebar’s appearance in feature workspaces.
  • tmux scrolling: Fixed a scrolling issue inside tmux panes.
  • Pane resize: Fixed a bug that prevented pane resizing from working.

[1.2.0] — 2026-04-08

ClawIDE v1.2 focuses on workspace customization and quality-of-life improvements. This release includes 11 commits since v1.1.0.

Added

  • Theme Support: Light and dark mode with a manual toggle in the top bar and automatic detection of system color scheme preferences. Learn more →
  • Movable Panes: Drag-and-drop tab reordering to customize your workspace layout. Rearrange terminal sessions, file editors, and other tabs to match your workflow.
  • Rename Terminal Panes: Give terminal tabs meaningful names for better session identification when working across multiple sessions.
  • Hidden Files Toggle: Show or hide dotfiles and hidden directories in the file editor tree. Useful for inspecting .env, .gitignore, and other configuration files.
  • Soft-Delete for Branches: Deleting features and branches now sends them to a trash folder instead of permanently removing them, with the ability to restore accidentally deleted work.

Fixed

  • Mobile Keyboard Handling: Resolved issues with the virtual keyboard interfering with terminal input on mobile devices.
  • Copy Toast: Fixed spurious copy-to-clipboard toast notifications appearing unexpectedly.
  • Touch Text Selection: Improved text selection behavior on touch devices for smoother mobile editing.

Changed

  • Added release helper commands to the Makefile for streamlined version tagging.

[1.1.0] — 2026-03-24

ClawIDE v1.1 brings deep Claude Code configuration management, a command palette, and broad platform improvements. This release includes 33 commits since v1.0.0.

Added

  • Agent Management: Full CRUD for Claude Code agents with global and project-level scoping. Create, edit, delete, and move agents between scopes directly from the sidebar. Agents are stored as .md files with YAML frontmatter in .claude/agents/ directories.
  • MCP Server Management: Configure and control Model Context Protocol servers with process lifecycle management (start/stop/restart), real-time status monitoring, and a built-in log viewer. Supports global and project-scoped configurations via .mcp.json.
  • Skills Management: Create, edit, and organize Claude Code skills — reusable slash commands stored as SKILL.md files. Supports scope management, version tracking, model preferences, and tool restrictions.
  • Command Palette: VS Code-style unified command palette with dual modes — file search (Cmd+P) and command execution (Cmd+Shift+P). Includes fuzzy matching, 30+ built-in commands for text transformation and line operations, recent history tracking, and keyboard navigation.
  • Clone from Git: New project type in the wizard — clone a repository by URL with optional branch, depth, and directory name. Supports GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, and any Git remote.
  • Markdown Preview: Live preview for .md files in the file editor with GitHub Flavored Markdown, syntax-highlighted code blocks via Highlight.js, and Mermaid diagram rendering.
  • File Rename: Rename files and folders directly from the file browser with path validation and directory traversal protection.
  • Preferred Editor: Select and launch an external code editor (VS Code, Sublime Text, vim, etc.) from within ClawIDE. Auto-detects available editors on the system.
  • Open in File Explorer: Open project directories in the system’s default file explorer from within ClawIDE.
  • Windows Support: Added psmux as a terminal multiplexer for Windows, auto-selected when running on Windows. Use --multiplexer psmux to override on any platform.
  • Session Auto-Creation: Opening a project with no existing sessions automatically creates a default session, eliminating the extra click.
  • MCP Hook Integration: Claude Code notifications now use MCP server integration instead of bash hooks for improved reliability.

Changed

  • Localhost Binding: ClawIDE now binds to localhost by default instead of 0.0.0.0. Use the new --mobile flag to bind to all interfaces for LAN/mobile access.
  • Branch Support: Improved git branch handling beyond the main branch across worktrees and feature workspaces.
  • Sidebar Behavior: Fixed and improved sidebar collapse/expand behavior for a smoother UX.

Fixed

  • Terminal Copy: Fixed clipboard copy when tmux mouse mode is enabled.
